Also involved in different ways such as a consultant or employed with industry partners in world-class manufacturing and innovation over the years (coincided with sabbaticals or reduction in academic appointment, as needed).

Successful solutions for advanced manufacturing and product development from packaging or materials optimization to medical devices generated for partners and customers all over the world including: NASA, NSF, OCAST, ONR, US Air Force, US Army, and industry such as: CostCo, Wal-Mart, MaxQ, WebCo, as examples.

Outside of research and teaching, I enjoy:

- hiking or mountain biking

- playing piano & guitar

- practicing jiu jitsu & general aviation
